Not all who wander are lost...

...but I was. Lost, that is. So all of you who bet money on the fact that I'd get lost at some point on this trip, you win. At least it wasn't at an airport! haha.

Here's what happened. If you didn't know that there's a Red Rock Park in Boulder, now you know. And so do I. Because when I was attempting to get to the Red Rocks today, that's what I accidentally selected in my GPS. Boulder is beautiful by the way--didn't have time to stop on campus, but it looked gorgeous!

Luckily, I am a pro at mis-adventures, so before heading to the actually Red Rocks, I decided to follow a road that led toward the mountains, and ended up driving through Roosevelt National Forest, which is probably my favorite drive I've ever taken. It was absolutely gorgeous! Mountains rising up on both sides, river running alongside the road..I regret nothing! At the end of the road, I came upon this breathtaking view at the Barker Meadow Reservoir. The pictures don't do it justice.

The actual Red Rocks are amazing. I spent two hours hiking around, pausing frequently to just take it all in. Also to catch my breath, because talk about a steep incline!

After my hike, I had the absolute pleasure of seeing a friend I haven't seen since...high school? Another friend who makes me feel really old because we've know each other almost twenty years--yikes! Kristin and I played soccer together (and then against each other). And now she's this incredible mom and wife, and it's completely humbling to have seen the transformation. I didn't get a picture, but she did, and it's on Facebook. I did take a picture of the lake we walked around, just one of many things that made this such a beautiful day!

And just like that, tomorrow is my last day in Denver. I suspect that more adventures await! Stay tuned.
